Need a website? Have one that’s due for a refresh?
Getting a website up and running is easier and cheaper than it ever has been! But only if you know the right software to use and how to implement it.
Example sites:
Here are some websites I’ve designed and maintain.
- Live ʻUkulele (my personal site)
- Honokaʻa Western Week
- ʻOno for Pono
- Evan Bordessa
- Attainable Sustainable
I can work in Wordpress, though its time is past. For new sites I use a software called Pagemotor. It’s super fast, easy to use, and allows me to spool up a basic website within a few hours.
My Focuses:
I’ve been creating and designing websites for myself and others for over 20 years. I’ve honed efficient systems and methods for getting results – and avoiding feature creep.
This extensive knowledge allows me to quickly create you a functional website using modern tools and execute it in a way that is highly future-proof and easy to maintain.
These main points are where focus my attention:
- Utility – a great website has a very specific purpose and its function must be immediately obvious
- Responsiveness – something that looks great on a monitor has to also look great on a small phone screen
- Minimal touch points – reduce the time it takes to implement changes by designing content that can be edited in the fewest steps possible
- Speed – a slow loading website is a terrible user experience. My sites generally load within half a second
Cost:
I charge $75/hour.
A new, basic website typically takes two to four hours to get up and running. For the most economical outcome, you need to provide:
- Page content
- Inspiration for how it should look
I can do copywriting and appearance brainstorming, but it’s a lot cheaper to provide this yourself.
A domain name is the branded url you type into a web browser to get to a site. A .com domain is around $15/year.
Hosting is the computer storage and processing that allows your site to be accessed from around the world. This typically costs around $10/month for small sites.
So annual upkeep is usually around $150 on top of my design fee.
