Brad will provide in-person ʻukulele instruction for the student(s) at the time and location discussed.
The student(s) (or their parent/guardian) will provide a suitable space to work and compensation as outlined below.
These terms form the agreement for your lessons. The date, time, location, lesson length, and rate are as confirmed in writing (email or text) between you and Brad.
Lesson space & access
- A quiet, protected space with seating for Brad and every student
- A parking spot Brad can use for the length of the visit
- Access to the lesson space at least 15 minutes before the agreed start time
- Restroom access for Brad
Scheduling, payment & cancellation
- Payment is due up-front to reserve a lesson, unless otherwise agreed upon, and can be paid via:
- Please give at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Lessons cancelled with less notice, or no-shows, are charged in full
- If Brad needs to cancel, the lesson is rescheduled at no charge
Lesson timing
- Distractions and delays before or during the lesson count as active teaching and the lesson will still end at the agreed upon time
- Brad will wait for 15 minutes and make every effort to contact the student before considering the lesson a no-show
Rental ʻukulele & damage
- Brad can provide a loaner ʻukulele to play during the lesson
- A loaner stays in the student’s care for agreed lesson use only and is returned in the same condition, allowing for normal wear (string wear and light handling marks)
- The student is responsible for loss, theft, or damage beyond normal wear – cracks or breaks caused by misuse, water or heat damage, or a missing instrument – and agrees to cover full replacement at current value
- Please keep the loaner out of direct sun, out of hot cars, away from food, drinks, and pets, and off of couches or seats that increase the chances of it getting smashed
Conduct
- Brad will make every effort to create a fun, safe, engaging, and productive lesson environment
- Conduct that endangers Brad’s wellbeing and safety (tantrums, verbal or physical abuse, etc) are grounds for termination of the lesson and charged in full
- If the student is a minor, a parent or guardian must be present or on the property for the entire lesson
- Parents or guardians are resonsible for the discipline and attention of children
- Brad can not be held responsible for slow lesson progress if the student is uninterested or inattentive
Liability
- Lessons take place in the student’s space, and the student ensures it is safe for a visit
- Brad is responsible only for loss or injury resulting from his own negligence
Agreement
- This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi
